What's a "Faithclip" Anyway?

Faithclips are clipart images used in the communication of one's faith.  For Christians, faithclips may include everything from witnessing and "gospel message" images to personal and public expressions of our hope in Jesus Christ.  All Christian faithclips therefore center on and revolve around the Lord Jesus.  Without Him there is no church, no Christian, no forgiveness of sin or hope of eternal life. Jesus Christ is everything to the Christian church and to any kind of Christian faithclip.

Why do some faithclips focus on the Bible or some other aspect of the Christian experience?

A good question and one that's easy to answer and understand.  As Jesus Christ impacts our life with God's own power and Holy Spirit, we find that he is at work in many of the things we do each day, such as pray or reading Scripture.  Prayer is nothing more (or less) than a human heart and soul in communication with God's own divine Self (or Spirit), through Jesus Christ.  It is natural, then, for Christians to express their faith in God's grace and power at work through prayer.

The Bible is God's written Word to all human beings.  It is a compilation, over a period of some 5,000 years, of the messages and life experiences of men, women and children whose lives were directly impacted by God.  Holy persons of old recorded, kept, and passed along the messages and direct interventions of God.  God's own Holy Spirit was powerfully at work in this recording, preservation, and propagation of Holy Scripture (or Writings).

The Bible is very important to anyone who wishes to truly know Jesus Christ.  God is not like men.  We change with time, and our ideas and opinions tend to shift and stray with the passing years.  But God always speaks the same powerful truth.  He does not change with time (since He is well beyond the realm and influence of time).  His message to human beings does not change.  In the Bible, we can see that the same message continues from Genesis to Revelation (or the Book of the Apocalypse).  What God spoke to Adam and Eve in the beginning is still the truth.  In each succeeding generations, the Lord God spoke, adding more details, filling out the picture, if you will, of what He first began to say in the beginning.

Through Moses, many generations after Adam, God revealed more fully His own perfect righteousness, and His desire for human beings to behave kindly and fairly with each other.  Through Jesus Christ we see God's ultimate answer to human weakness and failure.  In every generation of human existence, we have shown ourselves unable to live perfect lives, without sin.  But in Jesus Christ, God has canceled out all the sins and everything Satan might dig up to use in accusing us before God.  Jesus actually became sin for us, being nailed to the cross in our place.

The Bible talks about these things far more clearly, and more thoroughly than I have here.  it shows whole lives, and whole histories of families and nations.  It gives many examples of faith and obedience, as well as human failure.  It shows heroes as real people.  It shows sinners who finally turned to God for forgiveness and help.  It is a most wonderful and powerful book, revealing all that we need to know about faith, God, holiness, eternal life, and salvation.

Faithclips are expressions of faith.  Christian faithclips are expressions of Christian believers (human beings who trust in Jesus) who want to share what they have discovered in God's love and grace.
