There is
nothing like praise and thanksgiving to God to drive away the shadows of
discouragement and confusion. When worries overwhelm us, we can
literally become bogged down to the point of not knowing which way to
turn. When all else fails, go to the Lord in thanksgiving and
prayer.
Remember
all the prayers that God has answered for you in the past.
Remember the great things He has done. Do not allow your mind to
be carried by the difficulties of the moment. At other times, when
you saw no way, God made a way.
In the New
Testament book of Philippians, Paul the apostle writes from prison to
say:
"Rejoice
in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness
be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:4-7, NKJV)
