Clip Art Image: Rising while it is
still dark, she provides food for the family (from Proverbs 31)
 |
Ok, so the image above may be a little beyond where
many good wives are able to go. Rising up early is one thing,
but being fully dressed, and ready to go before getting a hearty
breakfast for everyone may be more than even an excellent wife will
do.
On the other hand, many a good wife is up and ready to
go long before the sun rises (especially in winter). They get up
and get their make-up on, their best clothes on, and are out the door
to face the office workload. Not to mention morning traffic.
To read what God's Word has to say, read Proverbs 31.
Granted, some things change with different cultures. But the
meaning never changes. A good wife is hard to find (as is a good
husband). And yet she is a vital part of any truly successful
household.
She cares for the husband and children, tends to
business and provides good meals and an atmosphere for the home where
the whole family can thrive together.
Don't be discouraged if you believe this is impossible.
Maybe you must work outside the home. Maybe your husband fails
to do his part (or has failed to even remain with the family).
God does not look for ways to judge anyone. The purpose of the
Scriptures is to give us wise counsel and clear direction.
To the extent that it is possible for you to provide a
good home for your little ones, do that. To the extent that you
are able to provide good meals and a place for growing and learning
together, do that. Be involved with your children and the future
you are building together. Help to make good things happen for
your family.
