In the Old Testament, there are many worthwhile and powerful
stories to help us in our daily walk of faith. One of my
favorite portions of Bible history is the story of young Samuel.
I won't rob you of the pleasure of reading the whole thing for
yourself. But I will mention that Samuel learned as a
small boy that God does not just talk to old men and women.
The Lord chose to reveal some very important things about
Himself and His will to Samuel.
God will share Himself with anyone who is willing to spend time
with Him. He is not just interested in people who are
serious seminary students or who are full-time ministers.
God loves all people and He will share His thoughts with any
human being.
Jesus was saying something similar when He told the disciples
not to keep the small children from coming to Him. God has
time for children. In fact, Jesus said that the kingdom of
heaven belongs to such as small children. On the other
hand, He told Nicodemus (a religious leader of those days) that
he was unable to even see the kingdom, much less enter into it. |
