Clip Art Image: When the way grows dark and dangerous, we need more than ever to walk by faith

 

All of us have encountered dark places along the path of life.  There are times when the way before us seems to lead downward into a dark and deep valley of despair or loneliness, where all seems hopeless and without meaning.

That is when we learn what it really means to walk by faith.  We have no "feelings" to support the things we really want to believe.  The promises of God seem so very far away.  We struggle to just get up and get going.  After all, what's the use of trying?

God is always with us.  The Lord Jesus will never forsake us.  He is the dreaded Angel of the Lord that remained always with the people of Israel in the wilderness journeys, when they seemed to be making no progress at all.  And He is the One who met Joshua outside Jericho and told him how to take the city: with a shout of triumph!

Do not give in to despair.  No matter what you feel, how you feel, or even if you feel nothing at all, walk by faith.  Keep to the path to which the Lord has called you and know that His Presence is there with you.  He will keep you and protect you.
