Clip Art Images: Jesus Loves Me

A happy looking boy, in a little bit of a retro style, pointing to the fact that Jesus loves him.  This is one of the greatest truths we can give to any child.  Everyone needs to know that God loves him or her, just as they are, no matter what.

God hates sin because it destroys what is good and pure in humanity.  A child is born with a sin nature, as any student of the Bible knows.  But that does not mean that children are born to do evil or to hate God.  In too many cases, we as parents, teachers and spiritual leaders train innocent children to distrust God, to feel and then believe that God only loves perfect or "really spiritual" people.  If that were the case, then God would never have said that He loves the whole world enough to give His Son for our salvation.

God loves people.  God loves all creation, and takes delight in every living thing.  He cares about you, me and the meanest person on earth.  God's heart is bigger than our understanding of love, larger than our capacity for truth, and infinitely greater than our ability to do wrong things.

Whatever else we teach our children, let's make sure that we never God or the Lord Jesus a bum rap.  Lat us always make certain that every child in our care knows that they are accepted, loved and wanted — by us, by the Lord Jesus and by every good thing in heaven.  Jesus suffered and died so that every human child could freely enter the kingdom of heaven, just as they are, no strings, no gimmicks, no false promises.
