Pale Green Baseball Cap - Free Art
Images for Christians

Picture of a pale green (olive colored) baseball
style cap or hat. Original clip art produced by Jim Sutton
for Christian use.
I keep several hats. I almost never leave the
house without a hat on my head. I finally had to retire my
favorite hat. But not before paying to have a new hat
embroidered to look like the old one. And I have the one I
now wear every day, which doesn't look like the old one at all.
And I have another that I wear when doing dirty jobs, so that I
don't have to wash my everyday hat too often. And then I have a
couple I really don't like at all. These are sacrifice hats,
that I wear when it doesn't matter if they come back home at
all.
Americans like their hats. Not so much in certain
circles of society, where a lot of attention may be given to
looking very refined in almost all circumstances. But in most
places, from the city to the country, Americans like to wear the
baseball-style caps. For one thing, it can save time that might
be spent on combing and arranging one's hair. Or, if a guy has
no hair, it might be preferred to showing off his bald head or
bald spots. Or, as is the case with many of us, we just may feel
undressed in some way without a hat.
A lot of people wear a hat to make a point. They
have a message, a company logo, a specific symbol of some kind,
they want to show off. I bought a hat some years ago that said,
Proud to be an American. It had a flag and some stars on it (see
it here). I started wearing the hat around the 4th of
July, and then just kept wearing it. I forgot all about the
message, and was often startled or even confused when people
would make some comment on it, until they would point to the
hat. Then I would say, "Oh, yeah."
Most of my hats never cost me dime. They were
given to me by a store or other retailer, or I found them on a
road somewhere, or received them as a gift from a family member.
I don't consciously collect hats, as some guys do, but I do have
a small collection. And I use them all at some time or another.
Caps are great for keeping the sun out of your
eyes when driving, walking or working. They can help protect
your head when the weather is wet or cold. They can even keep
the direct sun off your head, but they are not necessarily cool
on the scalp. It depends on the hat and how it's worn. But
once wearing a hat becomes a habit, no special reason will be
needed. It just goes on automatically.
